Camo Habibo
I have a series of images to go along with this piece. I have taken the photos on film, so I need to wait untill all pictures are taken, before getting the images back. Camo Habibi is very concept-driven, it started me on this journey of dealing with perception. Displaying the fabric covering an object makes you think about hiding. In all of my pictures, I ‘blend in’ by covering my head in the fabric.

Type Club #04
Love this poster, I think it’s a fitting addition to the Type Club poster family. I was planning an animation while making this poster. I still have to come back around and make the animation.
Before finishing the print, I realised that I was creating an ad, which is not what I came to the RCA to do. Limiting my expression with more ‘design’. Without this realisation, I wouldn’t be thinking in the way I do now. The poster represents my pure graphics past. In my next print, I’m going to make art!
I put a lot of effort into the display of the posters in the show. The paper i used to display my work on is dyed by cleaning the Letterpress ink rollers. I flipped the lockers to make it feel like a countertop. I hung the posters up by aluminium poles; it then reminded me a bit of a butcher. The saturated colour ink on paper is a bit like blood. Something about aluminium. I’d like to use aluminium frames.

Caribbean Blue
This drawing represents my fine art exploration. Its only in the show because I’m proud of it. Please yourself as much as you can. Type Club #04 is graphics; this is art- I want to learn more about both these things and collide them.

Shortcuts
I don’t like explaining this to people anymore, from now on I will say less and ask more. I will write something concise to put next to it, to contextualise it just enough that it makes the viewer explore it and answer their own questions. Shortcuts is a Graphic depicted artistically, which is not really what I want. See previous blog post for more elaboration…
