Record tutorial--a warm beginning

Record tutorial–a warm beginning

This was my first one-to-one tutorial since I came to the school, and I decided to record it down. Kristina was so gentle and open-minded, yet she could also give very specific and insightful advice. She helped me realize that those seemingly fragmented experiments I’ve been doing have already formed my first sequence of visual and perceptual explorations in this new environment.

During this week’s exploration, “observation,” “memory,” and “emotion” kept intertwining — like a fluid structure of perception, a continuous investigation of how I sense the world. Kristina encouraged me to let these fragmental thoughts grow more openly, without rushing to find a fixed theme or narrative.

She suggested that I could organize these small experiments into a zine, or document them through moving images, turning them into a more organic and process-based form of presentation.

When I mentioned my wish to continue exploring anti-anthropocentrism, Kristina recommended two books: Stories of Extinction and Regeneration and Tools and Anthropology Beyond the Human. It felt really heartwarming to be understood and guided in such a meaningful way, I think I should read them soon!

After this tutorial, I no longer feel the urge to define a single theme. Instead, I want to keep recording my bodily and emotional responses through continuous sensory practices, collecting subtle traces and turning them into a quiet dialogue between myself and the environment. These fragments may become the nutrients that will feed my future creations.
